Julia Stiles Reunites with Sean Patrick Thomas 25 Years On

Julia Stiles has reignited a wave of nostalgia after recreating her iconic dance routine from Save The Last Dance on Dancing With The Stars ^[1]. The 45-year-old actress, reprising her role as grieving ballerina Sara Johnson, performed a hip-hop and jazz fusion to Jennifer Lopez’s Jenny From the Block, paying homage to the film’s Juilliard audition finale.

At the midpoint of the routine, her partner Ezra Sosa stepped aside, revealing Sean Patrick Thomas — her co-star from the 2001 film — standing offstage, nodding in approval, mirroring a famous shot from the original movie ^[1]. The moment brought Stiles to tears, describing it as a 'full circle' experience. She told Entertainment Tonight that she had long wished to revisit the film’s legacy in a meaningful way.

Stiles, now a director and mother of two, has maintained a strong Hollywood presence since the film, starring in the Bourne series, Silver Linings Playbook, and Sky’s Riviera, while also directing her debut feature, Wish You Were Here ^[1].
