Michael Douglas Shares Wild Story About Danny DeVito and Pot

Michael Douglas has shared a wild anecdote from his past with longtime friend Danny DeVito, revealing that the actor once ingested marijuana joints during a traffic stop. The 82-year-old star recounted the incident on Wednesday while appearing on The Joe Rogan Experience ^[2]. According to Douglas, the pair were pulled over by police, and in a moment of panic or humor, DeVito reportedly swallowed several marijuana joints.

The story, which Douglas described with a mix of disbelief and amusement, highlights the famously close bond between the two actors. The incident reportedly occurred during a time when cannabis use was less socially accepted, making the act even more surprising. Douglas emphasized that the situation was not a legal issue at the time, as no charges were filed, but it remains a memorable moment in their friendship ^[1].

The revelation comes as part of a broader conversation on the podcast about their careers, personal habits, and the evolution of drug culture in Hollywood. Douglas, known for his roles in films like Wall Street and The American President, has been open about his past struggles with substance use, but this story focuses on DeVito’s more outlandish behavior.

The tale has quickly gone viral, drawing attention from fans and media outlets alike. The Daily Mail Showbiz reported on the story less than an hour after it aired, underscoring its immediate impact ^[2]. While no further details about the incident—such as the year, location, or police response—have been confirmed, the account is consistent with the comedic and irreverent image DeVito has cultivated over decades in showbiz.
