Bridget Marquardt and Nicholas Carpenter Exchange Vows After 18 Years

Bridget Marquardt has officially married Nicholas Carpenter, wrapping up an 18-year relationship with a wedding that lived up to its unconventional roots ^[1]. The couple, who first began dating in 2006, exchanged vows in a ceremony that reflected their unique bond, beginning with a proposal that was as unexpected as it was heartfelt.

Carpenter surprised Marquardt during a hike at a spot they both love in Los Angeles. He planted a fake spider ring in the dirt to distract her, leading her to pick it up and examine it. "Long story short, I went to put the ring back because it wasn’t mine—I just thought it was cool that it was there," Marquardt recalled. "And I turned around and he was on one knee with the real ring. It was really sweet."

The real ring, a spider-themed piece, wasn’t chosen for its creepy aesthetic but because it symbolized Marquardt’s personality and their shared desire for something different from tradition. "I wanted something different," she told People. "The traditional rings were just really, really traditional and I just wanted something unique and special. We saw this and I was like, I love that!"

The couple’s journey from early romance to marriage has been closely followed by fans, with Marquardt’s decision to embrace non-traditional symbols of love marking a defining moment in their story. Their wedding, while private, has drawn widespread attention for its authenticity and emotional resonance.

What happens next? The newlyweds are expected to begin a new chapter together, with Marquardt already hinting at future creative projects and shared adventures with her husband. The story was first reported by E! News.
