Richard E Grant's Traitors fate revealed tonight after 'colossal blunders'

The third episode of Celebrity Traitors airs tonight on BBC One, picking up where last week's dramatic roundtable left off as contestants decide whether to banish Richard E Grant ^[1]. The Oscar nominee openly confessed to being a Traitor, leading to a tense debate among the Faithful ^[2].

Grant, chosen as a Traitor alongside presenter Maya Jama, wasted no time in revealing his role, even telling comedian Joe Lycett directly: "I'm a Traitor!" ^[2]. He later attempted to backtrack, claiming it was merely "wish fulfilment," but many Faithful, including actor Julie Hesmondhalgh, were not convinced.

Despite his confession, some contestants, such as comedian Joanne McNally, believed Grant's outburst was an "obvious joke" and that those accusing him were suspicious [1, 2]. Industry star Myha'la and model Jerry Hall also sided with Grant, believing his "wish fulfilment" explanation ^[2].

Grant's fellow Traitor, James Acaster, has already expressed his discomfort with lying and the deceit of the game ^[2]. Acaster, who knows many of the other comedians from the circuit, admitted that they pose his biggest threat for detection.

Tonight's episode will reveal whether Grant's audacious self-outing leads to his banishment or if the Faithful turn their attention elsewhere. If Grant is banished, the remaining Traitors, Acaster and Jama, will face the decision of whether to recruit a new member or continue as a duo ^[2].
