Jeremy Allen White, star of the upcoming film The Social Reckoning, has stated he plans to keep his two young daughters, Ezer and Dolores, away from social media platforms [1]. The actor, 35, shares his children with ex-wife Addison Timlin.

Speaking at the New York premiere of the film, White explained that he gets "really nervous" about young people and social media. He believes it's challenging enough for children to compare themselves to peers in school, let alone the entire world visible on a phone [1].

White emphasised the importance of keeping young people's worlds "as small as we can for as long as we can" so they can develop their self-identity before constant comparison to others [1]. While acknowledging the positive aspects of platforms like Facebook and Instagram, he warned of the dangers when dependency forms, especially for young users.

The Social Reckoning is a follow-up to the acclaimed 2010 movie The Social Network, with Aaron Sorkin returning as writer and director [1]. The new American legal thriller is inspired by the true story of whistleblower Frances Haugen (played by Mikey Madison) and Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz (played by White).

Jeremy Strong steps into the role of Mark Zuckerberg, a character previously played by Jesse Eisenberg, who earned an Oscar nomination for his portrayal [1]. Eisenberg, however, has publicly distanced himself from Zuckerberg and Meta, stating he doesn't want to be associated with someone "doing things that are problematic".

Eisenberg expressed concerns about Meta's editorial decisions, noting that the company's vast wealth is being used in ways that he finds troubling [1]. He added that he views these issues as a person who reads the news, rather than solely as an actor who once played Zuckerberg.

The Social Reckoning, which also features Mikey Madison, is set for release on 9 October [1]. The film focuses on the events leading to The Wall Street Journal's "The Facebook Files" exposé.

Since his separation from Timlin in 2023, White has been connected romantically with his The Bear co-star Molly Gordon [1]. The story was first reported by Daily Mail Showbiz.
